Dr. Jenks is a Distinguished Professor who joined the Department in 1991. He added duties as Director of Graduate Programs in 2008. His primary teaching responsibilities include Principles of Wildlife Management (WL 411), Large Mammal Ecology and Management (WL 417-517), Animal Population Dynamics (WL 713), and Wildlife Research Design (WL 715). He is involved with advising and mentoring of both undergraduate and graduate students and has a 70% teaching - 30% research appointment. Dr. Jenks' research involves large mammal ecology and management. He also is a Co-Principal Investigator of the South Dakota Gap Analysis Project.
