Welcome potential transfer students! You are not alone – at any given time, 20-30% of our undergraduate students are transfer students. Many come from 2-year programs in environmental sciences, but many also come from general education programs at other schools.
For those of you who are considering SDSU for completion of a degree program in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, we offer the following tidbits.
*You will be able to graduate from SDSU in the least amount of time if you follow the curriculum requirements for our major (http://wfs.sdstate.edu/wfsdept/Undergraduate%20Degree/Undergraduate%20Degree.htm). With correct planning, you should be able to take coursework at your other institution that will transfer to SDSU to meet specific graduation requirements. Without such planning, some students may take an extra semester or two to graduate from our program.
*If you would like a campus visit that includes a meeting with a departmental advisor, please contact the SDSU Admissions office. http://www3.sdstate.edu/Admissions/VisitingCampus/IndividualOfficeVisits/Index.cfm
*Special note: our department will offer an online version of the WL 220 Introduction to Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences during the spring semester of 2009. This course will only be open to off-campus students. Completion of this course will allow transfer students to enroll in upper division courses immediately upon transfer to SDSU. Further information on enrollment for distance education courses at SDSU can be found at the following link. http://distance.sdstate.edu/Courses.cfm
