Driving Directions
Brookings SD is located 50 miles north of the intersection of I-29 and I-90. Air travel arrangements should be made through either the Brookings airport (BKX), or through the much larger hub in Sioux Falls (FSD). Travel/driving from other airports in the region (Minneapolis, Sioux City, Omaha, Pierre) is not recommended as these destinations are a 4 hour additional drive into Brookings, SD. There is no regular shuttle service between Sioux Falls and Brookings due to the distance involved and limited demand. It is strongly suggested that individuals rent cars/vans and car pool from FSD to BKX.
Driving FSD > BKX: Upon leaving the Sioux Falls airport, take I-29 N toward Brookings and take Exit 132 (6th St), W onto 6th St., go approximately 0.5 mile then turn N onto 22nd Ave., after approximately 0.5 mile turn W onto 11th Street, after 0.5 miles, turn S onto 16th Ave., continue 250 yards to Grove Lane, turn right onto campus and follow the signs. (Total distance 55 miles).
Alternate Driving FSD > BKX: Upon leaving the Sioux Falls airport, take I-29 N toward Brookings and take Exit 132 (6th St), W onto 6th St., go approximately 1 mile then turn N onto 16th Ave., after approximately 1/3 mile turn W onto Grove Lane and follow the signs. (Total distance 55 miles).
